Delicious Recipe for Homemade Ice Cream

Because July 16th is National Ice Cream Day, here is some inspiration for your next homemade dessert!

This quick and easy recipe is perfect for warm summer days ahead when you are craving a sweet treat.  Continue reading to find the ingredients for some delicious homemade ice cream!

Servings: 6 

Prep Time: 5 minutes

▢ One 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
▢ 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract 
▢ 2 cups of heavy cream, cold
▢ ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
▢ Optional: 2 cups of add-ins – soft brownies, cookies, or strawberries work great!


1.  In a large bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, vanilla and salt; set aside.

2. Whip the heavy cream with a mixer on medium-high speed until firm peaks form, about 2 minutes.

3. Fold about 1 cup of the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture with a rubber spatula until combined, then fold the lightened mixture into the whipped cream until well blended.

4. Pour into a chilled metal loaf pan, and freeze, covered, until thick and creamy for about 2 hours. Swirl in any desired mix-ins with a spoon. Continue to freeze, covered, until solid and scoopable for about 3 more hours.

Once the ice cream is ready, scoop and enjoy with desired toppings. Hot fudge and whipped cream go perfectly with this delicious, creamy treat!
